Caddilac Ranch, Amarrilo, Texas.

Hello!

While in the States,  I visited several ranches, but nothing like the Caddilac Ranch in Texas!
Um, Is this a Car?

It was a Car!

This is the sign that stood on the other side of the fence
Yes, Caddilac Ranch is exactly what the names conjures up! A whole bunch of caddilacs from the 50's and 60's stuck bonnet down in the dirt.  Bring on the spray paint and crazy string!
The ranch is located just off of I-40. I- 40 runs parralel to Route 66! Route 66 is the mother road to all Americans. 2448 miles. Chicago to Los Angeles. Anyway, the ranch was bulit 1974 and belive it or not, some of the cars still worked when they were first buried.  The angle that they are buried at, is similar to that of the Great Pyramid of Giza. Funny that. Amarrilo, (where the cars are based,) is as barren and windswpet as the desert. The Idea Of the ranch was to celebrate the birth and death of the of the mid 20th century's Caddy's. It was also built as a Public Art Instalation. The three guys who created it, where Chip Lord, Hudson Marquez and Doug Michels. the idea was simply to celebrate the turn of cars evolution, and to give the public something to enjoy and legally graffiti. Kind of interesting.
Here's ME!!
